"Tomorrows July 21st," thought Sakura looking down at her little calendar where she had written all of her dates. "Only a few more days until Sasuke kuns birthday."

Sasuke's birthday, of course that meant she would have to get him a present, but what would a guy like Sasuke want for his birthday? She could always ask him what he wanted, but she could just imagine what he would say. Something like how he had no interest in any sort of consumer merchandise, and if she pushed him on the subject all he would say was a new stock of shuriken or something. No, it had to be something special, something that he would actually want. Something that would make him ...happy.

She scoffed at the word; that was what she wanted. All she wanted was to see him smile at least once, to see him not worrying about anything and just laughing with her and Naruto. When she came to think of it, she'd never really seen him smile before, sure he'd sneered a bunch of times, but did he ever smile because he felt something warm from the bottom of his heart?

She was scared, about that feeling she felt a few months ago. The real time she had really felt the sadness of losing someone she loved. It was worse than she had imagined, but Sasuke had felt this feeling when he was only a child, she couldn't blame him for acting the way he acted. But is that any reason for him to be that unhappy? Doesnt he have a right to be happy like a normal child?

Then she remembered something she had read about long ago, something that she was taught about long before she even got into the ninja academy. Her grandmother had given it to her to cheer her up when she was being made fun of in school. "This is all I can think of, this is all I would be able to offer him."

The sun was setting on the evening of July 23rd. Sakura was dragging Naruto along the street and Kakashi was reading "Come come Paradise" behind them, Sasuke was coolly walking alone like he always did. "Im tired dattebayo!" cried Naruto.

"Walk yourself stupid," said Sakura sneaking a glance at Sasuke.

"Usuratonkachi," she could hear Sasuke mutter.

After a while Kakashi told them he would see them tomorrow and left, they had eventually reached Narutos house and were able to drop him off as well. That left only the two of them, Sakura walked behind Sasuke who was just walking silently. She didnt know how to start a conversation, she was too nervous.

"Sasuke kun!" she finally cried out

"What?" he said.

"Um, todays your birthday right?"

"Yeah, howd you know?"

"Oh, I just asked around," she said. She squeezed her little present in her palm, she could hear her own heart beating.

"Look I have to go home and do some extra training, can you tell me what you want?"

"Y, yeah, I sort of got you a present, and I wanted to give it to you."

"You know Im not interested in any kind of consumer merchandise, all I want now is to get my revenge."

Sakura was silent, revenge, revenge. All he ever said. All he ever even cared about. She held out the hand that had the present in it.

"Sasuke kun, I wanted you to have this," she said putting it in his palm. "Happy Birthday."

It was a small doll; Sasuke stared at it in the palm of his hand and said, "What is it? "

Sakura smiled and said, "Its a worry doll; people used to make them a long time ago so that whenever they were worried the doll could worry about it for them instead. I know your troubles arent small enough to just be solved by a little doll, but I just wanted to make the weight of your burden a little lighter.

Sasuke looked down at the doll and noticed three familiar features; short pink hair, green eyes, and a red dress. "Thanks," he said, "Lets go home." And though it was just a second, thought it could have just been Sakura's imagination, she had a feeling she saw him smile.
